Meet Ashley Heineman, Associate Director, Central Operations at Concurrent Investment Advisors

June 25, 2026

As a family-run firm, we partnered with Concurrent Investment Advisors, an industry-leading national platform that supports advisors and retirement plans nationwide with technology and investment resources. As a Concurrent-backed firm, we’re able to deliver a higher level of service by focusing on relationships with our individual clients, while also gaining access to exclusive investment opportunities.

One of the most valuable resources, thanks to our partnership with Concurrent, is access to a dedicated staff person who assists our team with all manner of client service and operational support. As the rest of our internal team has grown with the addition of Max Valenta and Adam Wright, we also wanted to take a moment to spotlight Ashley Heineman, Associate Director, Central Operations at Concurrent.

She’s already been a great addition to our support team and is all-in on the Valenta Capital mission. Get to know Ashley in the Q&A below!

What drew you to Valenta Capital?

I was drawn to the firm’s commitment to providing personalized guidance and to building long-term relationships with clients. I appreciate the collaborative culture and opportunity to help support meaningful financial outcomes for families and businesses.

What part of the financial planning industry interests you most right now?

I’m particularly interested in alternative investments and the continued evolution of investment platforms. I enjoy learning about new opportunities and helping create processes that support a strong client experience.

What do you think clients value most in an advisor relationship?

Transparency, trust, and communication. Clients want to feel heard and confident that their advisor is acting in their best interest while providing guidance they can understand.

What does great service mean to you in this business?

Great service means delivering a consistent level of excellence, communicating proactively, and being willing to listen to each client’s unique needs. It also means continually learning and growing so we can provide the best possible experience.

Why do you think 401(k) education matters so much for employees?

For many individuals, their 401(k) is one of their most important long-term assets. Education empowers employees to make informed decisions, understand the options available to them, and feel more confident about preparing for retirement.

What’s the most important thing plan sponsors need to know about their 401(k) plans? What is the biggest thing most employers are currently missing in their plan?

Plan sponsors have a responsibility to ensure their plans are designed with participants’ best interests in mind. Staying informed about fiduciary responsibilities, fees, investment options, and employee education is essential to maintaining a successful retirement plan.

The biggest thing missing is ongoing employee education and engagement. Even a well-disciplined plan can fall short if employees don’t understand how to use it effectively or appreciate the value of the benefits being offered.

What is one thing you wish more people understood about financial planning?

Financial planning isn’t just about investments — it’s about creating a framework that supports the life you want to live. Good planning provides clarity, flexibility, and confidence through all of life’s changes.

How do you think Valenta’s family-led structure benefits clients?

Valenta’s family-led structure promotes continuity, a shared vision, and a long-term approach to serving clients. It helps foster strong relationships and reinforces a culture centered around acting in clients’ best interests.

What are you most excited to help build or support at Valenta?

I’m excited to continue strengthening our investment platforms, supporting operational excellence, and expanding opportunities in alternative investments while helping deliver an exceptional client experience.

What is one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

I trained in ballet from the age of four through 16 before discovering my passion for strength training and weightlifting.

What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?

You’ll find me in the gym, spending time with my dog, Nya, and my boyfriend, Matt.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

My dad taught me that success doesn’t require being the smartest person in the room. He always said if you’re consistent, reliable, and easy to work with, you’ll go a long way, and that advice has stayed with me throughout my career.

If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would you choose?

Cleopatra – for her leadership and influence.

Simone Biles – for her dedication, mental toughness, and ability to redefine success.

Leonardo da Vinci – because of his endless curiosity and ability to excel across so many disciplines.
